For a long time now, customers have showed interest in the BigIron RX Telco blade, known as RX-BI48T for it's extremely high GbE port density. In only one chassis slot, you can run up to 48-ports of GbE copper. However, because Foundry never shipped these cards with the proprietary MRJ21 cables that are needed to use this card, demand has been relatively soft on the secondary market.
We have a lot of experience with Foundry ServerIron load balancers. So when our customers starting inquiring about their new line of ADX access switches, we wanted to get a better grasp of how a legacy SI350-PLUS stacked up against the new ServerIron ADX line. I got a chance to ask my Brocade SE about some very specific things I had been wanting to know...
Just landed, I have a FCX624S-F-ADV which is a 24x GB SFP fiber switch, with the advanced L3 license which enabled is to run BGP tables. This unit is NEW OPEN BOX and comes with our full ONE-YEAR warranty.
Give me a call with any questions about this or ANY Brocade or legacy Foundry products.

Customers have repeatedly asked me what the real difference between Brocade's NetIron MLX and their XMR series router. I've know for some time that generally speaking, the XMR offers improved performance over it's cousin the MLX. However I was never able to quantify and vocalize exactly what that meant in real world applications. After dragging my feet for far too long, I dug into Brocade's data sheets and did some research on the web and am pleased to summarize the differences between these two models as thus:
The TurboIron 24X is a high-density 10 GbE solution for direct server or compute-node connectivity in data center and HPC cluster environments. Each dual-speed port on the TurboIron 24X can function as a 1 GbE port by plugging in a Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP), making it a flexible solution for environments where some servers have not yet been upgraded to 10 GbE-capable NICs. We have SFP+ 10GbE optics as well! Call me with any questions!
Another HOT arrival, from the new Brocade IP line (Foundry Networks)! This NI-CER-2024C-AC has 24 x RJ45 ports, 4 x SFP, and the additional 2 x 10GbE module (NI-CER-2024-2X10G) making it a small, lightweight, but extremely robust feature-set router.
