BigIron

The Brocade BigIron RX Series of switches provides 2.2 billion packet-per-second offerings that scale cost-effectively from the enterprise edge to the core with hardware-based IP routing to 512,000 IP routes per line module. The high-availability design features redundant and hot-pluggable hardware, hitless software upgrades, and graceful BGP and OSPF restart.

JetCore based BigIron systems offer Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet density in a compact footprint. Powered by Foundry's Enterprise IronWare or Metro IronWare operating systems, BigIron Layer 3 switches offer wire-speed, non-blocking performance, rich Quality of Service (QoS) and advanced bandwidth management features for demanding service provider and enterprise environments.
