The Brocade FCX Series switches deliver enterprise-class Layer 2/3 switching in a compact, stackable form factor combining performance and intelligence to reduce infrastructure and administrative costs at the network edge. The FCX series comes in both stacking and non-stacking models, with optional Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) support and optional field-upgradeable 10GbE uplink modules. The non-stacking datacenter models come in 24 or 48x 10/100/1000 Mbps (RJ45) or 100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Fiber (SFP) connectivity with a slot to support either an optional four SFP or SFP+ uplink ports. The stacking version, targeted towards campus/enterprise customers, enable stacking support for up to eight switches allowing for simplified operation as a single logical switch with up to 384 ports at the access layer. Additionally, The FCX “S” switches come with 4x built-in GbE combo ports and support for an additional 2x 10GbE XFP module. All FastIron CX models are available with base or advanced software features for IPv4 and IPv6 Layer 3 capabilities (16K routes IPv4 FIB), including OSPF and BGP.
